he butter price range in Western Europe weakened at the low end. Butteroil prices firmed atthe low end but weakened at the top. Current packaged butter demand is called restrained andslow to develop. Seasonal increases in packaged butter demand are expected in coming weeks. Butter prices are expected to firm in coming months. Even so, not many buyers seem to beaggressively buying very far forward.
Bulk butter buyers are actively shopping around. Finalizing contracts is slowed because manysellers are holding firm for higher prices. Sellers are slow to accept the higher prices.Export volumes are expected to be mostly steady until June. Beginning in July, manufacturersexpect export demand to move higher.
