USDA: USDA: Butter/Butteroil – Oceania mid January 2020

Report 3 – Released on January 16, 2020

Oceania butter prices are higher. Nevertheless, looking back over 2019, the Dairy Market News monthly average price varied between $3,908 and $5,619. While manufacturers are happy with the current increase, pricing remains well below recent 2019 pricing.

Butter production is generally already committed to existing deals. With seasonally declining milk production, coupled with the need to build stocks for future committed sales, new current market spot buyers must write bigger checks to get what they want.
