Data from Dairy Australia
NEW ZEALAND:
Dairy producers are evaluating a new fixed milk pay price program offered by a large cooperative in New Zealand. There are terms and costs associated with the price certainty the program will offer. This is a new option so it is being carefully considered by producers.
As swine flu in China continues to be monitored, concerns are increasing in New Zealand as to impacts on the dairy industry. As a significant exporter to China, this is an important topic in New Zealand. China is a large importer of dairy products used to feed pigs. Lower demand for feed in China will, thus, reduce Chinaśs need for dairy derived animal feed. That is a matter of increasing worry in New Zealand.
