USDA: Butter/Butteroil – Oceania at the beginning of January 2020
Report 1 – Released on January 02, 2020
Butter prices in Oceania are steady. There is little interest in making new deals during late December. Most butter orders for Q1 2020 are believed to be finalized. Thus, even current seasonally active churning yields new butter into a market with many buyers taking time off because current needs are supplied. Butter production in Australia is active. New Zealand dairy manufacturers tend to send milk to whole milk powder rather than butter, when there is extra milk. The GDT is also in a three-week gap between events.
Oceania, 82% Butterfat, Free on Board - Port Butter
Price Range - $/MT: 3,800 - 3,925
Information for the period December 23, 2019 - January 3, 2020, issued biweekly
Secondary Sourced Information:
Butter exports from New Zealand January – November this year are even with the same period last year, according to CLAL data made available to USDA.
