Butter/Butteroil – Europe at the End of October 2019
Report 43 – Released on October 24, 2019
Butter prices in Western Europe firmed. Within Western Europe, butter pricing varies. German pricing is steady. French pricing is slightly lower. Dutch pricing is slightly up. Domestic demand remains strong. Contracting for the rest of 2019 is mostly completed. Q1 2020 contracting is underway. Some buyers are getting more favorable prices from private stocks as opposed to manufacturers. That has led to more sales activity from existing stocks. Of course, this is leading to some more recently manufactured butter going to storage, which seems acceptable to manufacturers with holiday demand ahead.
